The largest organ?

The largest organ in the human body is the skin. It serves as a protective barrier, regulates body temperature, and allows for the sensation of touch, heat, and cold. In adults, the skin can cover about 1.5 to 2 square meters (16 to 22 square feet) and weigh approximately 3.5 to 10 kilograms (8 to 22 pounds), depending on the person.

Graphene

Discovered in 2004, graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb pattern — just one atom thick but 200 times stronger than steel. It's incredibly light, flexible, and conducts heat and electricity better than copper. These superpowers make graphene a game-changer in fields like electronics, energy, and medicine.

Sport

The Estadio Nacional Disaster

Was a 1964 soccer/football match between Peru and Argentina that was being held in Lima, Peru. Upset Peruvian fans invaded the pitch after the referee disallowed an equalising goal by Peru. With some fans even throwing bottles and other debris onto the pitch.

Police responded by firing tear gas into the crowds, everyone panicked and rushed towards the exits, however, for some reason the outside stadium gates had been locked, resulting in a chaotic stampede. 328 people were killed.

Currency of Thailand

Thailand’s official currency is the baht (THB), a name that dates back to when it was used as a weight for silver. Today, the baht is issued by the Bank of Thailand and comes in coins (1, 2, 5, and 10 baht) and colorful banknotes ranging from 20 to 1,000 baht. The latest 20 baht note is even made of polymer for extra durability.

Anna Pavlova: Ballet’s Global Icon (and Sweet Inspiration)

Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova captivated audiences worldwide in the early 1900s with her delicate, expressive dancing — most famously in The Dying Swan. Unlike many dancers of her time, she toured extensively, introducing ballet to countries across Asia, the Americas, and the Pacific.

Her impact was so profound that during a tour to Australia or New Zealand (the origin is still debated), a chef created a light, airy dessert in her honour. The Pavlova — a crisp meringue with a soft centre, topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit — was said to be “as light as the ballerina herself.”
