History
The ‘first’ Industrial Revolution — was the transition from creating goods by hand to using machines.
Although, it has been widely debated the loosely agreed period for this revolution was from 1760 to 1840. Scientific and technological advancements transformed largely rural agrarian societies into industrialised urban ones — in simpler terms, we turned farms into factories.
During this time in history several inventors and engineers graced us with their intellect through their inventions. Notably this included
The ‘spinning jenny’ for spinning wool and cotton (James Hargreaves 1764)
Newcomen steam engine (Thomas Newcomen 1712)
Watt steam engine, more then twice as efficient as the Newcomen engine (James Watt 1763)
The first electrical telegraph between Euston and Camden Town in London (Cook & Wheatstone 1837)

1764 ‘Spinning Jenny’

Science
How old is the Earth?
Scientists estimate earth is about 4.54 billion years old, based on Radiometric dating ancient rocks and meteorites.
Radiometric dating works by measuring the decay of unstable isotopes—atoms that break down into stable forms at a known rate over time, called a half-life. For example, uranium-238 slowly decays into lead-206; by comparing the ratio of uranium to lead in a rock, scientists can calculate how long the decay has been happening and thus determine the rock’s age.

Internet vs Web
The internet, developed in 1969, is the global network connecting computers, while the web, invented in 1989, is a way to access information on that network using websites and browsers. Think of the internet as the highway system, and the web as the cars driving on it.
